Throughout the 2014-2015 academic year, the National Association of Episcopal Schools is commemorating its 50th Anniversary.
In celebration of the Association’s accomplishments and to equip it for the future, NAES has embarked upon a bold initiative, the 50th Anniversary Gathering Fund, a $1million campaign to gather resources to ensure that this important ministry thrives in the decades ahead. The Fund brings together three priorities of NAES, including enhanced access through the Jubilee School Fund, school ministry support through the Endowment for Chaplaincy Development, and mission and leadership development through The Rev. Peter G. Cheney Fund for Leadership and Governance. Unrestricted gifts can also be made to the 50th Anniversary Gathering Fund.
Said Executive Director Dan Heischman, “Episcopal schools distinguish themselves through their commitment to academic excellence, inclusion, worship, pastoral care and service. They hold a unique place in our culture, but also a pivotal one. For fifty years, the National Association of Episcopal Schools has pursued a mission to mentor, support, and nourish the remarkable individuals called to serve in these distinctive places.”
After a remarkable response during the silent phase, in which over $807,500 was raised, NAES publicly launched the campaign at its Biennial Conference 2014 in Anaheim, California, November 20–22. On this occasion, the Association was honored to announce an “over-the-top” challenge of $70,000+, pledged by a diverse group of member schools. These schools’ gift will be unlocked if NAES is able to reach $950,000 by its official “birthday” on May 28, 2015.
Gather with us to close the gap of $142,500 before May 28, and ensure future excellence through association by mailing your gift to the National Association of Episcopal Schools, 815 Second Avenue, Third Floor, New York, NY 10017; visiting our website; or calling (212) 716-6135.
The National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES) is an independently incorporated, voluntary membership organization that supports, serves, and advocates for the vital work and ministry of those who serve nearly 1,200 Episcopal schools, early childhood education programs, and school establishment efforts throughout the Episcopal Church. Chartered in 1965, with historic roots dating to the 1930s, NAES is the only pre-collegiate educational association that is both national in scope and Episcopal in character. The Association promotes excellence through association, advances Episcopal education, and strengthens Episcopal schools through essential services, resources, conferences, and networking opportunities on Episcopal school identity, leadership, and governance, and on the spiritual and professional development of school leaders.
