PE & Health Teacher

St. James’ Episcopal School is looking for a full-time Physical Education and Health teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will take a student-centered approach to all school work and will use the School’s mission to support the academic, extracurricular, social, and emotional success of students.

We are looking for a PE/Health teacher who is confident in their ability to:

• Design and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate, vertically aligned curriculum in PE and Health for students in grades PS-6.
• Present developmentally appropriate human development lessons to 5th-6th grade students.

• Communicate and use clear assessment practices and provide regular feedback to students and families.
• Regularly maintain the digital student gradebook of each student.
• Write comprehensive narratives for each child three times a year.
• Fulfill assigned pick-up, drop-off, lunch, and recess coverage duties.
• Participate enthusiastically in the greater life of the school.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a masters preferred. Experience in the field is advantageous. This opportunity requires excellent strategies and skills in communication, collaboration, and organization with an appreciation for confidentiality, equity, belonging, and professional growth.

Pay Range: $65,000 to $75,000 based on years of relevant experience.
