St. Martin’s Episcopal School seeks a culturally competent and responsive candidate to join our school community as an Advancement Manager. This position serves a crucial function within the Advancement office, managing two significant areas for the advancement team, including the St. Martin’s Fund and the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Reporting to the Director of Advancement, The Advancement Manager will work directly with the Admissions and Marketing Departments as well as the Head of School to further the mission of St. Martin’s Episcopal School. The Advancement Manager could encounter privileged information throughout the course of their role and must commit to a high level of integrity and confidentiality. In addition, this role will work with the Parent Teacher Organization to create a joyful community while strategically working to coordinate these efforts within the Advancement office. The primary responsibility is to unify our parent community, strengthen the engagement of our parents, and oversee all parent-related events.

Essential Job Functions
- Design and execute a plan to raise the financial goal set each year by the Board of Trustees for the School’s annual fund.
- Manage the personal solicitation of all school constituencies, including parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, and faculty/staff, for gifts to The St. Martin’s Fund throughout the school year.
- Maintain a portfolio of donors with the goal of moving them through the giving pipeline.
- Identify and recruit volunteers for The St. Martin’s Fund and ensure the necessary support and follow-up.
- Develop coordinated communication and solicitation strategies involving email, direct mail, phone/mail, and volunteer engagement, all focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support.
- Work with the Director of Advancement and Head of School to identify major gift prospects.
- Has a working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and the process of ensuring the integrity of donor data and reports.
- Implement and track metrics for the annual giving program.
- Assist the Director of Advancement and Special Events Coordinator with overseeing advancement-related events.
- Produce regular fundraising reports and other development reports as needed.
- Align with the Database Coordinator to ensure the accurate and timely acknowledgment of gifts and reports.
- Partner with the Director of Advancement to produce donor lists, solicitations, and other fundraising collateral, including annual fund materials and the annual report.
- Work with the Advancement team and Alumni Coordinator to help grow the alumni giving program.
- Serve as the primary liaison between parent volunteers and other key contributors to projects and events.
- Plan and execute St. Martin’s community events – including, but not limited to, Winter Social and the Fling.
- Aid the PTO committee chairs in setting and achieving their goals.
- Support the Parent Teacher Organization event calendar year round.
Candidate Characteristics and Qualifications
Candidates should be experienced professionals who embrace working in a highly collaborative, collegial environment and are comfortable working within the school community at large. Serve as the primary liaison between parent volunteers and other key contributors to projects and events.
The strong preference is for a self-starter, a lively candidate with:
- Minimum degree requirement: Associate’s degree from an accredited institution or the equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in development/fundraising, preferably in an independent school.
- Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of parents, alumni, faculty and staff, Board members, and the general public.
- Demonstrated financial and technical aptitude.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, and think critically, strategically, and creatively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge and other fundraising applications.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite.
Physical Requirements
This job is primarily performed inside; the noise level could be soft to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, walk, talk, read, and hear. The employee could be required to use hands to write, type, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee could occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Schedule and FLSA Status
The position serves as part of the Administrative staff and works in a 12-month capacity, following the typical school calendar. The position is full-time, Exempt and benefits-eligible with an average of 40 working hours per week. The standard daily schedule is Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, however, due to the nature of the role, the Advancement Manager may be required to work some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and school holidays. Occasional travel within Atlanta is required.
