The National Association of Episcopal Schools is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a $50,000 matching grant from The Edward E. Ford Foundation in support of the Association’s programs and services in 2009–2011 for the development of Episcopal school leaders, specifically
- an annual workshop for heads of school leading an Episcopal school for the first time
- the development of a mentoring program for heads of school new to Episcopal schools
- the creation of an institute for individuals who aspire to heading an Episcopal school
"We thank The Edward E. Ford Foundation for this gift and are grateful for the confidence in NAES this embodies," said the Rev. Daniel R. Heischman, the Association’s executive director, upon receiving notification of the grant. "NAES looks forward to fostering Episcopal school leadership with this support and assistance.
The matching period for the grant is November 20, 2008 through December 31, 2009. To match the grant, NAES has designated the following revenue sources for this purpose:
- the balance of the Jonathan T. Glass Memorial Fund, which was established in 2004,
- registration fees from the programs, workshops, and institutes supported by the grant,
- new membership revenue, and
- new individual contributions to the Association or the increases in individual gifts, over the previous year, from existing donors.
