[Episcopal News, Diocese of Los Angeles] The Episcopal School of Los Angeles, an independent coeducational day school in Hollywood, opened August 27, 2012, serving students in grades six, seven, and eight.
ESLA began two years ago with summer and after-school programs emphasizing science, technology, engineering, and math. Now in its first year of regular classes, the school will add a grade level each year until the fall of 2017; the first seniors will graduate in 2018.
Head of school is the Rev. Maryetta Anschutz; the chaplain is the Rev. Megan Hollaway. Both are Episcopal priests.
The school’s religious formation curriculum will stem from Episcopal Church theology and practice; chapel services will be conducted according to the Book of Common Prayer. For more information about the Episcopal School of Los Angeles, visit its website.
