Middle Division Chaplain

Position:

Casady School is seeking a Middle Division Chaplain for the 2025-26 school year. Candidates should love religious studies and walking alongside pre-teens and early teens in their extraordinary and sometimes chaotic lives (5th through 8th graders).

The Ideal Candidate:

• Practices the Christian faith in a generous and non-anxious manner
• Exhibits enthusiasm for teaching religious studies and holistic spiritual living
• Eager to explore religion and spiritual life with students and faculty from every Christian tradition, all five major world religions, and those with no religious affiliation
• Interested in developing innovative curricula with a variety of assessments
• Has an interest in connecting middle school students to the world of nonprofit and philanthropic work
• Believes in the value of collaboration across academic departments

Responsibilities:

• Program and lead a daily 20-minute middle school chapel service (collaboratively with the Senior Chaplain)
• Teach four sections daily of a four-year Bible survey (5th – 8th grade)
• Advise a small group of Middle Division students
• Share conversation with students at a family-style dining table during lunch
• Develop an approach to building student leadership in the Middle Division Chapel
• Facilitate community service learning for the Middle Division, grades 5th – 8th
• Participate in curriculum development, division-level activities, and school-wide functions
• Support and adhere to administration and school-wide policies
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred – some humanities or religion education also preferred
• Understanding of child development and best practices in education
• Ability to learn and utilize technology to enhance student learning
• Positive, proactive communication style with colleagues, administration, students, and parents
