Trinity Episcopal School seeks an experienced, dynamic, and nurturing educator to serve as our Fourth Grade Teacher beginning August 2025.

About the Position:
The fourth-grade teacher provides academic and religious instruction to students at Trinity Episcopal School. The teacher will create a classroom environment where students are challenged, but also come to discover the joy that comes from learning. In addition to being a master educator, this individual will possess outstanding communication and organizational skills, and be an individual with a collaborative spirit.
In addition to the qualifications described above, the fourth-grade teacher will be deeply committed to the mission of our school. Faculty at Trinity Episcopal School are required to model professional behavior in keeping with our mission as a Christian parochial school.
Beyond the classroom environment, faculty are highly encouraged to be involved in a variety of activities typical to the independent school environment including committees, advising, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties:
- Develop, curate, and implement a compelling curriculum which challenges students academically.
- Build off student successes in third grade, and prepare them for curricular challenges of fifth grade and future learning
- Help students develop problem solving and creativity.
- Serve as the teacher responsible for a self-contained classroom environment and maintain effective classroom management.
- Individualize instruction to help students flourish and serve a variety of learner’s needs.
- Use a variety of best practice curriculum approaches including Orton Gillingham/Morphology and Singapore Math.
- Provide feedback and assessment through a variety of types and modalities.
- Prepare students for annual administration of the Classic Learning Test 4 or similar annual assessment as required by Florida statute.
- In collaboration with the school chaplains, provide age-appropriate religious instruction to students
- Work collaboratively with the Head of School and other faculty members to ensure a positive school culture and successful spiraling and sequencing of an elementary school curriculum.
- Maintain positive interactions with parents and church/school stakeholders.
- Integrate technology in a way that fosters collaboration and furthers the academic learning environment.
- Continue learning about the craft of teaching through attendance and participation in professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Five years’ experience as a teacher in the K-5 classroom environment
- Digital literacy and proficiency in basic computing including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ten years’ experience as a teacher in the Parochial School, Christian School, and/or Independent School K-5 classroom environment.
- Experience and/or extensive training in IMSE Orton-based reading programs, Singapore Math.
- Experience teaching and instructing a religious curriculum.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a computer and keyboard for moderate periods.
- Mobility sufficient to move about the campus in a typical school day and care for and assure the safety of young children.
- Ability to communicate clearly with parents, students, and other community stakeholders.
- Sight, speech, and hearing adequate to perform the duties of this job.
- Ability to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds on an occasional basis.
