St. Nicholas School in Chattanooga, TN,  is currently seeking a PK 3 assistant Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year. St. Nicholas is a vibrant leader in independent education in the Chattanooga metropolitan region. Grounded in the Episcopal faith, St. Nicholas educates students with a comprehensive emphasis on academic, physical, social-emotional, creative and intellectual development. St. Nicholas School seeks a vibrant/dynamic educator for the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education. The St. Nicholas faculty is collaborative and innovative and we seek candidates to complement the strengths of our program and to add their own expertise and background to provide excellent educational opportunities for our students. We are a vibrant professional learning community for children, parents and teachers. Teachers receive regular support from colleagues and administrators. This person will be expected to help lead teachers with instruction and collaborate with their team to ensure a safe and positive classroom environment. Areas of Responsibility:

  • St Nicholas’s Assistant Teachers will:
  • Help plan, supervise, and implement a challenging and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with the educational philosophy and policies of St Nicholas School, the curriculum’s scope and sequence, and the prescribed student objectives
  • Help create a safe and engaging classroom community and differentiate for students as needed by employing a variety of instructional strategies and materials supported by best educational practices to enhance creative teaching/learning
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom
  • Help assess the learning of students frequently and analyze the data to drive instruction, teaching /learning
  • Assist in maintaining current and accurate attendance records and assessment data to meet the demand for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress
  • Maintain open, supportive, and consistent communication with parents and administration
  • Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff to promote a positive learning environment
  • Attend all staff meetings, required school events, parent/teacher conferences, professional development days, and orientations/in-service
