The Church Farm School is an independent boarding and day school for boys in grades 9-12 in the Episcopal tradition. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
CFS is seeking a mature, energetic, and organized coach who promotes an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship to assist the head coach in leading our program for the school year. We are looking for a positive team player with demonstrated prior experience working with and mentoring young men; a person is committed to being a leader within the CFS community.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must Have:
- Current valid driver’s license and willingness to drive 9-seat passenger van
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Coaching experience at the youth, high school and/or college levels
- Playing experience at the high school level or beyond in desired sport
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading groups of young men
- Willingness and flexibility to work a variety of days and hours across the season, including nights and weekends
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the head coach with the development, implementation and monitoring of the athletic program for the assigned sport
- Demonstrate a willingness to support the school’s mission, entire program and core values (respect, responsibility, integrity and brotherhood) through personal example, actions and attitude
- Assist the head coach with ensuring that scholar athletes adhere to eligibility rules, grade requirements and rules of behavior
- Cultivate and consistently maintain positive relationships with students, families and members of the CFS community
- Promote self-discipline and responsible decision-making among the scholars
- Assist the head coach with ensuring the continual supervision of scholar athletes during practice, workouts and in the locker room
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
This is a stipend position.
CLEARANCES: External candidates: If hired, you will be required to provide Acts 34, 114 and 151 clearances and complete any required employee trainings and/or paperwork.
