Last July, Boys Home of Virginia received a grant from the Outreach Fund, allowing for enhanced trauma-informed care education for all staff. Boys Home collaborated with Decca Knight of the Roanoke Valley Trauma-Informed Care Network for this initiative. Staff participated in four sessions covering general knowledge and best practices in trauma-informed care. This training will continue into the next fiscal year, with these skills being used to improve policy and programming.
